Cat Kamrath Monson

Artistic Director

Cat Kamrath Monson is a dance artist whose career has spanned throughout the states of California, Utah, and Wyoming. She has studied with noted faculty to receive a Master of Fine Arts in Modern Dance (University of Utah 2016) and a Bachelor of Arts in Dance with honors (Loyola Marymount University 2013). Cat is a Certified Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst (Integrated Movement Studies 2015) and a Registered Somatic Movement + Dance Educator (ISMETA 2017). She had a performing career in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Salt Lake City before she shifted her focus to choreography and teaching.

Cat is the Artistic Director of project-based dance company, Cat + Fish Dances, in Salt Lake City. Her company work has been presented throughout the states of Utah and Nevada. In addition, her choreography can be seen on high schools and colleges in Utah and Wyoming. Cat has a love for the art of teaching dance. She was an elementary dance specialist for three years and an adjunct professor at Weber State University and Muhlenberg College. Cat has been a co-director for the Snowy Range Summer Dance Festival since 2019. She currently serves as the Higher Education Representative and formerly the Conference Co-Chair on the Utah Dance Education Organization Board.

Cat joined the teaching faculty of Integrated Movement Studies’ Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analysis certification program in 2019. She leads sessions in all areas of the LBMA system. In her current role as an Assistant Professor and Dance Area Coordinator in the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of Wyoming, she specializes in modern dance and jazz techniques, musical theatre dance, dance composition, somatic practices, and dance pedagogy. She serves as a teaching mentor to dance students and as a choreographic mentor on senior projects. Cat choreographs annually for department productions, ranging from musicals to new contemporary modern works to historical reconstructions.

Trung “Daniel” Do

Assistant Director + Founding Member

Trung “Daniel” Do was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, and received his BFA in Modern Dance from the University of Utah. After graduating college, he relocated to Portland, Oregon where he collaborated and performed with Shaun Keylock Company and Polaris Dance Theatre. He was then offered and accepted a contract with Repertory Dance Theatre (RDT) and is now on his fourth season with the company. Since joining RDT, he has had the pleasure of performing works by José Limón, Lar Lubovitch, Donald McKayle, Bebe Miller, Ihsan Rustem, Noa Zuk, and others. He has been a guest dancer with Ririe Woodbury Dance Company and the Nikolais/Louis Foundation for Dance for their Alwin Nikolais France tour.

Megan O’Brien

Assistant Director + Founding Member

Megan Mary O’Brien is a dancer/artist born in Salt Lake City, Utah. At a young age, she fell in love with movement and performance when she created impromptu shows for her family to ABBA and Queen songs. For 15 years,  she extensively trained at a local Utah dance studio, The Winner School, in numerous styles of dance. She continued her training at the University of Utah School of Dance on full scholarship and graduated with a BFA in Modern Dance. Throughout her training Megan has had the privilege to learn from and work with many artists worldwide including Danielle Agami (Ate9 Dance), LajaMartin, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and the Staatliche Ballettschule School located in Berlin, Germany. She has performed in works by Lar Lubovitch, Ishan Rustem, José Limon, Zvi Gotheiner, Michio Ito, Shane Urton, LajaMartin and many more. She is compelled to share her passion for art with the community through independent choreographic projects, teaching and supporting the belief that everyone has potential to use creativity to benefit their life. Outside of dance, she is intrigued by reading all kinds of books, writing, eating salt n’ vinegar chips, and having dreams about living near the ocean one day. Currently, she works as a full time company artist with Repertory Dance Theatre (RDT).
